Somewhere between never & forever

From my earliest years, I’ve never been content to remain confined to a desk, lost in paperwork and client meetings. Instead, I’ve nurtured a deep-seated passion for making impactful contributions to the environment whenever the chance arises.

Engaging for impact: Involvement in projects & NGOs

Eco-Cleanup Initiative: Clearing Traces at L'Ile aux Aigrettes, Mauritius

Ile aux Aigrettes, unlike the volcanic mainland, boasts coralline limestone composition. It hosts the last vestiges of a dry coastal forest that once covered much of Mauritius. Unfortunately, the island endured deforestation, and land clearance, severely impacting native fauna and flora. Ongoing efforts focus on restoring and reintroducing rare species that had vanished, a mission enriched by collaboration with the Miss Earth Organization at the time. Actively participating in cleaning the island was a key aspect of our commitment to preserving and enhancing this unique ecological gem.

Tree Planting for Rosemary Dream Association in Brazil: Cultivating a Botanical Haven

When I arrived at Rosemary Dream, I eagerly joined an ongoing initiative: planting 150 trees alongside extraordinary individuals. This experience became a perfect moment—a delightful and soul-nourishing opportunity. The joy and satisfaction I derived from contributing to the tree-planting effort made it profoundly meaningful and uplifting

Sustainable Synergy: Eco Planet's Collaboration with Miss Eco Organization

I co-founded Eco Planet, a company committed to collaborating with NGOs and championing planet preservation. Our initiatives spanned recycling efforts and public awareness campaigns during major events. Until my relocation to Equatorial Guinea, I actively participated in these endeavors.

Additionally, I served on the board for Miss Eco through Eco Planet. Our mission centered around raising awareness and sensitizing individuals to environmental protection, encapsulated in the motto “La beauté au service de la nature” (Beauty in the Service of Nature).

Volunteering at "TIPA" in Mauritius was a meaningful experience.

TIPA, which stands for “Terrain for Interactive Pedagogy through Arts”, is a Mauritian non-governmental and non-profit organization. Our mission revolves around empowering vulnerable children by promoting interactive pedagogy, education, and engagement with art and culture. Through our initiatives, we fostered holistic development and create a positive impact on the lives of these young individuals.

Impactful Volunteering: Keseena's Journey with Better SA in South Africa

Better SA, a volunteering agency in South Africa, strives to enhance the nation’s well-being by aiding the underprivileged and facilitating volunteer engagement. My time with Better SA was profoundly impactful. I once volunteered in a surgical hospital, whuich made me feel a mix of anticipation and compassion. The children, their eyes wide with curiosity and vulnerability, captured my heart. I engaged in activities—reading stories, playing games, and simply listening to their dreams. One child, in particular, clung to me. His small hand held mine tightly, as if afraid I’d vanish. We shared laughter, tears, and hope. In that moment, I realized that volunteering wasn’t just about giving; it was about receiving love, resilience, and a sense of purpose.

Forward horizons:
Aspirations for Engaging Future projects and collaborations

Harmony in Habitat: Keseena's Passion for Sustainable Living

In my vision of the future, I see myself immersed in the world of sustainable living spaces. My passion for homes, coupled with a deep commitment to environmental preservation, fuels my drive. Whether I’m spearheading my own project or collaborating with like-minded organizations, I aspire to create residences that harmoniously blend with their surroundings.

The memories of walking alongside my late father, admiring picturesque homes, inspire me. Those moments etched in my heart propel me forward. I envision homes that not only stand as architectural marvels but also serve as beacons of sustainability. From energy-efficient designs to eco-friendly materials, I want to contribute to a greener, more visually appealing future—one where homes seamlessly coexist with nature.

Elegance on Loan: A Sustainable Vision for Fashion with Keseena's Dress Hire and resale Business

In the realm of fashion, my vision takes shape—a dress hire business that marries elegance with sustainability. My refined taste and love for glamour fuel this endeavor. But it’s not just about beautiful attire; it’s about challenging our voracious buying habits.

Picture a boutique offering formal wear, work attire, and fancy dresses for rent. Here, customers can indulge in style without the guilt of excessive consumption. By borrowing rather than buying, we reduce the strain on raw materials used in clothing production. It’s a small step toward a more conscious wardrobe.

And there’s a deeper purpose: I want to tackle the issue of neglected clothing languishing in wardrobes. Those unworn pieces, forgotten for months or even years, deserve a second chance. My business encourages a sustainable approach—one where fashion meets responsibility.

Inspiration flows from my talented mother, a stylist who chose family over fame. Her dedication to raising us prevented her from household recognition, but her influence lives on. Through this venture, I honor her legacy and contribute to a more mindful fashion industry.
